FROM THE COOKING SCHOOL Warm afternoons, blooming azaleas, daylight that extends beyond rush hour, a thick layer of yellow dust on everything, and a whole new cooking class schedule - it must be springtime in Atlanta! Our spring schedule is here and it's full of all types of classes - from baking basics to kids camps to wine tastings - and everything in between. Learn to make delicious seasonal dishes as you tour a neighborhood market, and get ready for those skimpy summer fashions with a class that will help you to sustain your weight loss goals. Explore a variety of international cuisines and save time in the kitchen with fast and delicious family meal ideas, or sign up the kids for a class (or a full week of camp) so that they can help in the kitchen. We continue to offer classes with a lot of your local favorites, as well as welcoming some new talents to the kitchen. We have several cookbook author appearances, including author, restaurateur, and Top Chef Masters contestant Suvir Saran; Robin Asbell, author of Big Vegan and The New Vegetarian Cookbook teaches "Meatless in the Heat"; Maria Speck, author of Ancient Grains for Modern Meals ; Jodi Rhoden, owner of Short Street Cakes in Asheville and author of Cake Ladies: Celebrating a Southern Tradition; Sheri Castle, author of The New Southern Garden Cookbook; Holly Herrick, author of Tart Love: Sassy, Savory & Sweet as well as Food Lover's Guide to Charleston and Savannah; Hugh Carpenter, who has published numerous cookbooks and is an award winning cooking teacher teaches 2 internationally themed classes on Thai and Mexican cuisines; Martha Hall Foose, author of A Southerly Course: Recipes and Stories from Close to Home; and author, restaurateur, and TV personality John Besh joins us to sign copies of My Family Table.
